Why Maintenance is Essential for Air Conditioning

Posted: 09 September, 2009

Your air conditioning system is like a car, every now and again it needs a little bit of love and attention to keep it running at it's best. By maintaining your air conditioning system, you will extend the life of the unit by up to 4 years, and you will also save money as it will run more efficiently.

We recommend that you have your air conditioner serviced at least once every three months by a professional service engineer. It doesn't cost much to get your heat pump serviced and it worth doing.

We clean the filters

Dirty and clogged filters not only drastically reduces the efficiency of your air conditioning, they affect indoor air quality as well. The cleaning and disinfecting of air conditioning filters is essential for a healthy environment.

We check the refrigerant pressure readings

We check that the refrigerant pressure is correct and that there are no signs of refrigerant leakage in your system. Incorrect running pressures are usually indicative of a serious fault.

We check the electrical control circuits

Electrical terminals invariably become loose and can cause damage to your air conditioning system. We check and tighten all electrical connections and check that the control circuits are functioning correctly.

On a maintenance service call, an engineer will take the time to check your air conditioning and ventilation systems over thoroughly. They will clean the indoor filters and the coils where necessary, take refrigerant pressure readings, check the electrical control circuits, and help identify any problems before they become a problem.
